The Prelude to holistic healing: Curtain Raiser for Sanjeevani 2022  

 25th August 2022, New Delhi: Services Export Promotion Council organized the curtain raiser for SANJEEVANI - India Heals 2022. The curtain raiser began at 6 PM as a prologue to the much-awaited event SANJEEVANI - India Heals 2022 to promote India as a destination for credible and holistic healthcare.

SANJEEVANI signifies the “Life Force” that gives something its vitality and strength. India Heals, a Health and Wellness initiative supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and organized by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), showcases India's capabilities as a destination for Healing and Wellness. It provides a platform to promote Indian Healthcare Services globally and forge sustained partnerships amongst countries while unlocking numerous business opportunities in the healthcare industry.

 

The Third edition of India Heals “SANJEEVANI 2022” is being organized and supported by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Government of India in partnership with the Services Exports Promotion Council (SEPC). The event was graced by the presence of the veterans of a medical fraternity and healthcare ministry like Dr Naresh Trehan, CMD, Medanta Hospital, Dr. K.R. Balakrishnan, Director- Institute of Heart & Lung Transplantation & Mechanic Circulatory Support & Chairman Cardiac Sciences at MGM Healthcare, Dr. Arvind Lal, Managing Director, Lal Path Labs, Shri. Vishal Chauhan, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Dr Upasana Arora, Director, Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital, Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. They shared their wisdom and their views to make this initiative a success.

 

Speaking in the event Dr. K R Balakrishnan- Director- Institute of Heart & Lung Transplantation & Mechanic Circulatory Support & Chairman Cardiac Sciences at MGM Healthcare (a JCI accredited hospital) in Chennai highlighted the importance of cadaver organ transplantation in saving life’s & presented details of many foreigners whom he had transplanted in last few years from Rusaia, Egypt, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Etc. 

Dr. K R Balakrishnan Best Heart Transplant Surgeon India is a reputed expert in the management of the end-stage heart failure and credited with India's First LVAD and HVAD pump implant as destination therapy. He also highlighted that in European Union there is a common organ sharing agreement between countries and India also must also work on having an association with our neighbour countries like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to get organs in Chennai & Kolkata respectively for a possible organ sharing program for transplantation. 

Dr. Bala added he is working with government of many countries to develop their own heart and lung failure program so that the transplantation can be possible locally for those patients who cannot travel to India due to lack of resources or other reasons.



SEPC’s flagship event SANJEEVANI 2022 will provide a platform for forging sustained partnerships amongst countries in the identified health care services and focus on promoting India as the most preferred destination for medical value travel. The curtain raiser was an opportunity to kickstart this flagship event that will help in formulating suitable strategies to augment the growth trajectory in existing and new emerging markets in the healthcare sector in India and ensure that India becomes the next best medical tourism destination in the post-pandemic era” shared Mr. Sunil.H.Talati, Chairman SEPC.

 

Mr. Karan Rathore, Vice Chairman SEPC opined, “SANJEEVANI aims to accelerate the healthcare sector and position India as a wellness destination globally with reliable and credible healthcare. SEPC’s role is to provide and enable an eco-system to achieve this target and help the sector bounce back after the pandemic crisis. This curtain raiser was a prelude to the same”

 

In cognizance of the impact of the pandemic on the services sector, especially medical tourism and the healthcare sector, the Services Export Promotion Council under the Ministry of Commerce is propounding innovative ideas to augment and accelerate engagement.

 

At Sanjeevani, the focused Buyers Seller Meets shall bring together the stakeholders from over 40 countries, they will meet with reliable NABH / JCI accredited hospitals, wellness centers and AYUSH Centers.

 

Foreign Buyers will also visit these establishments to experience first-hand the prowess of the Indian Healthcare Sector. Mainstreaming traditional Medicine in healthcare is the vision of SANJEEVANI 2022. Ethical and state of the art healthcare practices the world yearns for will be strengthened through SANJEEVANI.
